User Review - Flag as inappropriate Not a book for the beginner: one should start with Skinner's Science and Human Behavior to prepare for this tome. This is an outline of how a Radical Behaviorist can study Verbal Behavior as behavior, not with the traditional linguistic or cognitive approach. Many, including psychologists & linguists, are more familiar with Noam Chomsky's review than the 5/5(1). laboratory. In the book Verbal behavior (VB), published in , Skinner provided a conceptual interpretation of language and communication. In addition, he proposed new terms (e.g., mands, tacts, intraverbals) to categorize verbal behavior based on its function. Skinner did not present any research on verbal behavior in the book.
