The Bibliography of Bioethics was an annual index containing approximately 6, new citations to documents in the bioethics area. Published each year from tothe bibliography was derived from bioethics citations added to the NLM databases.
It provided the most comprehensive access to literature about the ethical, legal, and public policy aspects of health care and biomedical research. With its initial publication inBioethics became the first reference to focus solely on a then-burgeoning field, in effect helping to define the discipline.
The first and second editions won the Dartmouth Medal and Honorable Mention, respectively, and the set remains the standard reference on bioethics for teachers, students, and those in related fields of health care, philosophy.
